Venture Crew 2013 one of the little known jewels of the Baltimore Area CouncilVenture Crew 2013 is chartered in the Dulaney District and has members from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia! The crew formed initially to use the skills gained from attending and staffing Baltimore Area Council training courses. Although our primary goal is to train other scout units and organizations in the BAC we have offered training at Camp Alpine Scout Reserve, Southern Pennsylvania NYLT courses, National Capital Area NYLT and the Summit Bechtel.  Crew 2013 delivered service by supporting Kids Across Borders 3D Prosthetic Hand Builds with over 400 hundred hands built and supplied to needy children and young adults in more than 32 countries around the world.  The Crew also teaches realistic First Aid and holds Moulage Training to show how real wounds and injuries would be handled in emergencies. We have held multiple trainings for troops and crews in the BAC, National Capital Area, and Southern Pennsylvania. When the pandemic quarantines began we switched our meetings and First Aid trainings to virtual. The pandemic has also changed our 3D printing focus to printing and distributing 3D ear savers to medical professionals. These ear protectors keep masks tight while the straps from rubbing sore places on wearer’s ears. Hundreds of these 3D printed ear protectors were sent to hospitals and to medical professionals in Maryland, Michigan, Louisiana, California, North Carolina and Arizona. The North Carolina mask ear protectors went to the Cherokee Indian Reservation and the Arizona shipments went to the doctors and nurses treating children at the border medical care facilities.We provide these trainings and devices free of charge.
